Our Kidskills© course is designed
to teach children valuable life skills through
group interaction. These skills help them make
smooth transitions as they mature emotionally,
both at home and at school.
Course groups are tailored to suit individual needs
identified through an assessment process prior to
commencement.
Children benefit from improved:
Self Esteem is a set of skills that allow a child
to keep trying, learning and caring. Children who
believe they are valuable and effective have higher
expectations of their future success and show increased
levels of overall performance.
Assertiveness is a set of verbal and non verbal skills
that children use to maintain respect, satisfy their
needs and defend their rights without being aggressive
or relinquishing their rights by being passive. With
these skills, children are able to communicate their
needs in a calm confident manner.
Children with well developed social skills have a
lively interest in people and enjoy being part of
social events. They value friendships and put time
and energy into developing and maintaining these.
Unfortunately most children will be bullied at some
time. Being bullied can be a traumatic experience
which can affect a child’s self esteem and
their attitude to school. Often the best solution
to teaching children to manage bullying is awareness
of the appropriate action to take.
